Workpackage 4/ Textile thinking for the design of adaptive and responsive wearables – the scale of the body.

Maike Schultz is a textile designer and researcher. She holds a Bachelor from the Hochschule Niederrhein, Germany and an MA from the Swedish School of Textiles in Borås where she graduated in 2017. Her interest lies in the intersection between design and art and deals with the influence and appearance of the human body in textiles and vice versa: textiles that can be constructed for the body in new ways.

In her MA-studies, she specialized in jacquard weaving which she is now using and expanding for her research in the ArcInTex program. She investigates new methods for material solutions (in jacquard weaving) relating to the body and wearables.
